TE Cameron Kossmann flips commitment to Florida
The Florida Gators have added a second tight end to their 2025 class, as Cameron Kossmann has flipped his commitment following a strong official visit. He was offered a scholarship this past Tuesday.
Kossmann, 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, is a product of Chesterfield (Mo.) Marquette who had been committed to Penn since Oct. 24. He doesn’t hold a ranking at this time, but the Gators are intrigued by his size and frame. They him as a high-upside prospect at the position, with one source calling him a “money ball, under-recruited player,” so there is some excitement about Kossmann’s long-term potential.
Additional schools that have offered include Kent State, Army and Columbia.
“It is a huge offer for me and I’m extremely blessed by their belief in me,” Kossmann told Gators Online this week. “My favorite things about Florida are definitely the coaching staff. Also, the ability to play ball at a high level and the academics. It’s hard to find that mix anywhere else.”
The Gators have signed one tight end in Micah Jones but mutually parted ways with Tae’shaun Gelsey during the Early Signing Period due to differences about his positional fit.
That resulted in the Gators taking a hard look at Cameron Kossmann, leading to this week’s offer, official visit, and now a verbal commitment from him. He’s excited to sign shortly and become a mid-year enrollee.
