Thirteen-sack freshman season has Armondo Blount, a Gators offeree, on the national radar

Another Power Five program has stepped up to the plate with an offer from Armondo Blount, this time being the University of Florida.
Blount, a 2025 EDGE from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard, recently camped at UF’s Friday Night Lights and did enough to receive the green light. Prior to the offer, the rising sophomore had been communicating with defensive line assistant, Kareem Reid, who was previously the head coach at Coconut Creek High.
During the 2021 season, the 6-foot-3, 254-pound Blount was responsible for 13 sacks as just a freshman. And because of that, nearly 30 additional colleges have offered as well, including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oregon and Miami.
“I wasn’t expecting the offer; I just came out and competed and had fun. That was my main focus,” Blount told Gators Online. “I felt like I did good. It was not my best, but I feel like I did good. I dominated some things.
“I found out about the offer because they took me to the head coach after the camp, and then he told me after we had a little conversation. He was telling me to stay humble and keep working hard because a lot of people tell me I’m good, but I should stay humble and keep working hard.”

Although communication is limited due to his graduating class, Blount says the hospitality was on full display in Gainesville. That marked his first meeting with Billy Napier’s staff, but he also camped during his eighth grade year and returned to campus in the spring for track and field.
“I like the coaches’ energy and welcomingness they bring too,” Blount said. “I like how big the campus is and how everything looks around it. Also, just being inside the Swamp.”
Blount is eyeing several fall visits, including a return trip to the Swamp
If all goes as planned, the South Florida native will have a front-row seat to a flurry of games this fall. Another trip to Alachua County is on his family’s radar as well.
In addition to the Gators, Blount has already logged visits to Alabama, Ohio State and Miami.
“I’m going to try to get to Florida vs. LSU, Miami games, and I’m going to try to get to Ohio State and Alabama games this year too,” Blount said.
The future On300 prospect says his near two-dozen suitors are on a level playing field early on.
