This is the Gators' 2025 recruiting class … so far
Last week, the Florida Gators picked up commitment No. 5 in the 2025 class when 3-star running back Chad Gasper of Texas pledged to the program. Here’s a quick look at the class, which is No. 19 in the rankings, as of today:
*Josiah Abdullah, WR, Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy
-HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5-foot-10, 175 pounds
-ON3 INDUSTRY RATING: 87.97
-ON3 INDUSTRY RANKING: No. 75 WR, No. 48 in Georgia, No. 463 nationally
-COMMITMENT DATE: 1/14/24
-PICKED UF OVER: Abdullah has offers from two dozen Power 5 programs.
-SCOUTING REPORT: Abdullah plays fast and is powerful. Additionally, he is tough to tackle because he runs with authority. Abdullah is a stronger and more physical runner than his frame would suggest.
-411: It’s possible he might visit other schools, but that is to be determined and he shows no signs of wavering. Abdullah is close with Gators freshman linebacker Myles Graham.
-OFFICIAL VISIT PLANS: Florida (June 14)
The Florida Gators have 2 running backs committed
*Waltez Clark, RB, Tampa (Fla.) Plant
-HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-foot-1/2, 190 pounds
-ON3 INDUSTRY RATING: 90.13
-ON3 INDUSTRY RANKING: No. 18 RB, No. 40 in Florida, No. 260 nationally
-COMMITMENT DATE: 9/16/23
-PICKED UF OVER: FSU, Miami, Tennessee, others.
-SCOUTING REPORT: Clark is both fast and smooth. Few running backs in this class accelerate through the hole like him. He recently clocked a 100-meters time of 10.77 seconds. Clark has the ability to get skinny in space and has a quick burst out of his cuts, which make him deadly in the open field. Clark’s versatility is another asset and he’s also excellent in the passing game.
-411: Clark seems to be solid to the Gator.s The biggest thing working for Florida is this: Clark’s relationship with Florida running backs coach Jabbar Juluke.
-OFFICIAL VISIT PLANS: Florida (June 14); he has said he’s likely to visit at least one other school.
*Chad Gasper, RB, Fulshear (Texas.) Katy Jordan
-HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5-foot-11, 200 pounds
-ON3 INDUSTRY RATING: 87.53
-ON3 INDUSTRY RANKING: No. 40 RB, No. 81 in Texas, No. 518 nationally
-COMMITMENT DATE: 5/10/24
-PICKED UF OVER: Houston, Kansas, Memphis.
-SCOUTING REPORT: Gasper will lower his shoulder and drive into a defender. He’s a tough, physical runner, the kind who isn’t easy to tackle with your arms. He has the potential to wear down a defense. Additionally, Gasper has 39 receptions for 457 yards in high school — and is fairly strong in the open field.
-411: Gasper seems locked in following his recent commitment.
-OFFICIAL VISIT PLANS: Florida (May 31).
2 Tallahassee-area defenders are on the commit list
*Jeramiah McCloud, DL, Havana (Fla.) Gadsden County
-HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-foot-2.5, 285 pounds
-ON3 INDUSTRY RATING: 88.25
-ON3 INDUSTRY RANKING: No. 37 DL, No. 60 in Florida, No. 430 nationally
-COMMITMENT DATE: 5/02/24
-PICKED UF OVER: FSU, LSU, Mississippi State
-SCOUTING REPORT: McCloud isn’t the biggest defensive lineman but has a solid combination of motor and aggressiveness. And he might give Florida some position versatility along the defensive line.
-411: McCloud committed to the Gators two weeks ago after having previously been committed to Mississippi State. His verbal came one day after FSU offered. Up to that point, the ‘Noles hadn’t heavily recruited him. It’s unclear at this time if McCloud will visit other schools. If Georgia were ever to push, that might be something to watch.
-OFFICIAL VISIT PLANS: Florida (May 31).

*Jalen Wiggins, Edge/DL, Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards
-HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-foot-5, 235 pounds
-ON3 INDUSTRY RATING: 92.84
-ON3 INDUSTRY RANKING: No. 7 DL, No. 13 in Florida, No. 92 nationally
-COMMITMENT DATE: 1/15/24
-PICKED UF OVER: FSU, Georgia, LSU, Miami
-SCOUTING REPORT: The Gators have recruited Wiggins to play edge, but given his current size it’s possible he could grow into an end or even inside player. At the Under Armour Camp in Orlando earlier this year, he showed good quickness coming off the ball, nice footwork, active hands and an excellent motor. His reach is a problem for offensive linemen.
-411: Florida State, Notre Dame and Stanford all continue to heavily recruit Wiggins. Two weeks ago, Wiggins told Gators Online he was locked in with Florida. But the Irish recently offered and are believed to have some optimism regarding its flip chances.
-OFFICIAL VISIT PLANS: Stanford (May 31), Florida (June 7), FSU (June 21), Notre Dame (TBD).
RECLASSIFIED
*Enoch Wangoy, OT, Jacksonville (Fla.) Zarephath Academy
411: Wangoy, a native of England, committed to the Gators this spring for the 2025 class but recently reclassified and now will enroll at Florida this coming week.
