Three-star offensive lineman Tommy Kinsler de-commits from Florida
After pledging to the Gators on June 19, three-star offensive lineman Tommy Kinsler has de-committed from Florida. Kinsler announced the news of his Twitter account early Saturday morning.
According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Kinsler ranks as the No. 69 offensive tackle in the 2023 class and comes in as the No. 956 player regardless of position.
“Dear Gator Nation, after days of deep thought and prayer I have decided to de-commit from the University of Florida,” the note from Tommy Kinsler read.
The news comes after Kinsler took an official visit to Miami last weekend, allowing the Hurricanes to jump in front of the Gators. The Florida staff was aware of the visit and allowed him to exhaust the free trip to Miami.

“I just want to see the academics,” Tommy Kinsler said of seeing Miami after he committed to Florida. “I heard they got one of the best academic facilities, so I figured I’d check it out.”
Kinsler visited Florida on multiple occasions throughout the recruiting process and called Florida his leader for much of the last 18 months.
Moving ahead, Miami is securely in the driver’s seat to land Kinsler. Prior to his commitment to Florida, Kinsler had interest in Florida State and Rutgers as well.
