Injury report: 2 Gators cleared to play vs. Miss State
The Florida Gators issued their updated availability report Thursday night along with Mississippi State. It’s the second of four injury reports that will be released before the Gators (2-4, 1-2 SEC) face the Bulldogs (4-2, 0-2 SEC) on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. on SEC Network.
A pair of UF defenders, junior safety Jordan Castell and defensive lineman Brien Taylor Jr., have been cleared to play against Mississippi State after being questionable on Wednesday.
The Gators still have four players listed as questionable on Thursday’s availability report: cornerback Cormani McClain running back Ja’Kobi Jackson, tight end Tony Livingston and offensive lineman Devon Manuel.
McClain, who has started three of the last four games, is a new addition to the injury list this week. Jackson has missed the past two games, while Livingston and Manuel were both out for the first time at Texas A&M.
Florida currently has a half dozen players out against the Bulldogs: defensive lineman Caleb Banks (foot), running backs Duke Clark (shoulder) and Treyaun Webb (hamstring), EDGE LJ McCray (foot) and defensive backs Aaron Gates (shoulder) and Dijon Johnson (knee).

One player who’s back for the Gators this week is Muizz Tounkara. The freshman receiver has missed the last two games.
Mississippi State offensive lineman Albert Reese IV and defensive back Isaac Smith were both upgraded from questionable to probable, while MSU defensive lineman Jakheem Shumpert-Perkins was added to Thursday’s availability report and listed as doubtful.
