Todd Golden, Gators take center stage at SEC Media Days

New Florida men’s basketball coach Todd Golden makes his first trip to SEC Basketball Media Days on Wednesday with a pair of his players.
Dubbed “Tipoff ’23” by the league, the event is taking place this year at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama. Women’s teams were up first on Tuesday, and the men’s teams will go Wednesday.
Golden will be joined by point guard Kyle Lofton and forward Colin Castleton, a preseason first-team All-SEC selection. SEC Network will provide live coverage of the event, beginning at 12 p.m. ET.
“I think this team has the makings of an NCAA Tournament team, so that will be a simple barometer that we can use once we get to March to see if we’ve had a successful season or not,” Golden said last month. “The most pleasant thing about it is we’ve asked a lot of these guys and they’ve been really, really receptive to the coaching, and so it should give us a chance to have a pretty good season.”
