Trikweze Bridges commits to the Florida Gators
Florida Gators have landed their third transfer portal commitment this cycle from defensive back Trikweze Bridges of Oregon, who took an official visit to Florida earlier this month.
“I liked talking to coach (Billy) Napier and (defensive coordinator) coach (Austin) Armstrong,” Bridges said. “I see what they are trying to do with this defense and how they are trying to change it around. They have some pieces here, but they are young. I know it would be a good thing having someone in the room with them to educate them and lead them. They just need a big brother. That’s a good note to have to take and look at.”
The Gators on Sunday got commitments from Pennsylvania defensive lineman Joey Slackman and offensive tackle Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, formerly of San Diego State.
Bridges had a breakout season in 2022, starting in all 13 games for the Ducks. He posted a career-high 49 tackles. Bridges also broke up five passes, hauled in three interceptions, and a forced fumble. He earned an All-Pac-12 third-team selection from Pro Football Focus, but in 2023 was surpassed on the depth chart by sophomore Jahlil Florence.
Bridges still managed 16 tackles this past year.
Bridges played high school football at Lanett (Ala.), where he was a 3-star prospect. He was the No. 425 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Bridges ranks as the No. 20 safety according to On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings. It will be interesting to see whether he lands at Florida, where he would have one season of eligibility remaining.
Bridges joins a young but talented room. Florida is still waiting for a decision from rising seniors Jason Marshall, Jaydon Hill and Jalen Kimber— who may test the NFL Draft. Additionally, Florida has a rising junior in Devin Moore as well as rising sophomores in Ja’Keem Jackson, Sharif Denson, Dijon Johnson, and Aaron Gates returning next fall.

Track transfer portal activity
As of December 9th, 1,508 FBS players have entered the Transfer Portal.
While the NCAA Transfer Portal database is private, the On3 Network has streamlined the reporting process tracking player movement. If you find yourself asking, ‘How can I track transfer portal activity?’ our well-established network of reporters and contacts across college athletics keeps you up to speed in several ways, from articles written about players as they enter and exit the transfer portal or find their new destination, to our social media channels, to the On3 Transfer Portal.
The transfer portal wire provides a real-time feed of player activity, including basic player profile information, transfer portal ranking and original On3 Industry recruiting ranking, as well as NIL valuation (name, image and likeness).
The On3 Transfer Portal Rankings allow for you to filter the On3 Industry Rankings to find the best of the best in the portal, starting with Overall Top Players.
You can dive deeper into the rankings and filter by position whether it is Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Tight End, Offensive Tackle, Interior Offensive Line, Edge, Defensive Line, Linebacker, Cornerback, Safety, Athlete, Kicker, Punter, or Long Snapper you’re looking for.
