Twelve Gators signees land in final On300 rankings
The final batch of 2024 On300 rankings were released on Monday, with nearly half of the Gators’ class having made the cut.
It starts with 5-star quarterback DJ Lagway, who earned a major bump and is now the No. 2-ranked prospect overall. Only 5-star Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith ranks ahead of him.
Prior to today’s update, Lagway was the No. 16 prospect and No. 2 quarterback in his class; now, he’s On3’s top-ranked quarterback and No. 1-ranked prospect in talent-loaded Texas.
The product of Willis (Texas) High manufactured a stellar senior season and also turned heads during Under Armour All-America week.

Not far behind Lagway is 5-star Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland defensive lineman LJ McCray.
The 6-foot-6 defender is the No. 1-ranked prospect at his position and No. 6-ranked prospect overall. He previously sat at No. 3 overall, but that’s going to happen when players like Lagway make a big splash. McCray is elite as they come along the defensive front. That is not a significant drop in any way.
For Florida, signing the No. 1-ranked quarterback and defensive lineman was a major deal and needed.
