Two more Florida Gators baseball players enter transfer portal
The Florida Gators will be active players in the transfer portal this off-season. On Thursday two more players officially entered the portal. Sophomore pitcher Timmy Manning and freshman outfielder Corey Robinson both entered themselves into the portal Thursday.
While the transfer portal has taken over college football and basketball, it is relatively new for college baseball. The past two years the portal has picked up. This year there are already more than 2,000 baseball players in the transfer portal.
Manning was the No. 2 left-handed pitcher in the state of Florida in 2020. However, Manning struggled to find innings as a freshman. He made just eight pitching appearances including four starts, finishing with a 6.60 ERA and 16 strikeouts (9.6 K/9) across 15 innings pitched.
As a sophomore, Manning made 10 appearances including seven starts on the mound. His best start came in the SEC Tournament. He shut down No. 5 Texas A&M over five scoreless innings at the SEC Tournament on May 28, allowing five hits and one walk while tying his career-high with six strikeouts.
Robinson was the fifth-ranked outfielder in the state of Florida in 2021. Robinson struggled to get on the field as a freshman with Jud Fabian returning to school and the emergence of Wyatt Langford in left field. He played in 21 games including one start as a true freshman. Robinson batted .133/.278/.333 with one home run, nine runs scored, three RBI, and two stolen bases across 15 at-bats.

Five Gators now in the transfer portal
Manning and Robinson join Nick Pogue, Karl Hartman, and Mac Guscette in the transfer portal.
Pogue posted on Instagram that his “time as a Florida Gator had come to an end” three days before officially entering the portal. The redshirt sophomore has already graduated from Florida and will likely get drafted next month. Pogue should sign a professional contract, but if he can’t come to terms would play one more year of college baseball elsewhere.
“Words can’t describe how great these last four years have been. Without my teammates, I would not be in the position that I am in today,” Pogue wrote. “With that being said, it hurts me to say that my time as a Florida Gator has come to an end. With whatever the future holds for me, I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to have put on the Gator uniform. Much love Gator Nation!”
Pogue missed the 2021 season due to Tommy John surgery. He returned in 2022 and made 11 pitching appearances including 10 starts. He posted a 4-3 record 4.59 ERA and .238 BAA.
