UF men's hoops announces signing of EJ Jarvis
The Florida Gators men’s basketball team announced the signing of Yale graduate transfer forward EJ Jarvis on Monday.
Jarvis, who has one year of eligibility remaining, announced his commitment to the Gators on Friday. He chose Florida over Northwestern, Notre Dame, VCU, Miami, California and Georgia Tech after more than 60 schools reached out to him upon his entrance into the transfer portal.
Jarvis is the first transfer portal addition for Todd Golden and his staff of the offseason.
The 6-foot-8, 220 pound forward averaged 11.4 points and 5.5 rebounds en route to earning All-Ivy second team honors.
‘We are thrilled to welcome EJ into our program,” Golden said. “EJ exhibits all of the winning qualities we value as we build our program. He is a high-achieving young man who will graduate from Yale as a three-time Ivy League champion. He has proven the capacity to impact winning on both sides of the basketball. EJ will be a great leader for this program as we head into next season.”
More on Jarvis
Jarvis joins Aleks Szymczyk and Alex Fudge in the frontcourt, which became a thin group following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season. He will be looked at to replace the production from CJ Felder (graduate transfer), Colin Castleton (no remaining eligibility) and Jason Jitoboh (transfer portal).

Thomas Haugh and Alex Condon are Florida’s two other players who will be arriving in Gainesville alongside Jarvis for the 2023-24 campaign. All three will come in to provide depth to the frontcourt for the Gators.
Jarvis has racked up 20 career games with multiple blocked shots including four games with four blocked shots.
His veteran presence will certainly come in handy for the Gators as Castleton, Myreon Jones and Kyle Lofton – all three of UF’s fifth-year seniors – are each leaving the program.
