Uniform combinations released for the Gators and Utes
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The stage has been set for No. 7 Utah and Florida for years, and now we know the uniforms the two teams will wear for their matchup in the Swamp.
The Utes will wear their all-white uniform combination. It’s the same combo Utah wore for the Rose Bowl against Ohio State last season.
The Gators will go traditional for the first game. They do, however, have some fresh new cleats thanks to Jordan Brand. It’s a retro Jordan 7 cleat with orange and blue detailing.
The game is on pace to be a total sell-out this Saturday. Florida has just 75 remaining season ticket packages ahead of the season opener. Student season tickets sold out in less than a week. Single-game tickets for Florida-Utah are also sold out and have been since August 20.
“We said at the beginning here, (that if) we’re going to have success, it’s going to require a team effort and I think our fans and their positive energy and the things that they bring to gameday can make,” Napier said. “The Swamp is a very unique and challenging place to play, there’s no question that we’re very thankful and appreciative of their support.”
Monday of game week, Napier also urged the Gator Nation to show up early and to be loud. The way tickets are selling, he will get an incredible turnout for his first game in Gainesville.
“We’re obviously excited about it being game week. We really look forward to our fans showing up. We all understand Gainesville transforms on game day, and I’m certainly excited about experiencing that for the first time being on this side. So be there early, know that you’re a part of the team and that you can contribute and help our team in terms of the game.
The Utes will receive $500,000 for traveling to Gainesville. That’s a number that will be matched when Florida is paid to travel to Salt Lake City to kick off the 2023 football season.
Gators uniform reveal
Florida took it a step further Thursday, releasing the entire season uniform schedule.
UF will wear orange helmets for all 12 games and its traditional home uniforms every week except one. The Gators will wear blue jerseys and pants once against South Carolina. On the road, Florida will wear white jerseys and blue pants for their first three games away from The Swamp. They will change it up to orange pants in Nashville and white pants for the season finale in Tallahassee.
