WATCH: Billy Napier, UF staff wishes CB Cormani McClain happy birthday
The nation’s No. 1-ranked cornerback, five-star recruit Cormani McClain, celebrated his birthday Friday and received a video shoutout from Florida coach Billy Napier and his staff.
The Gators sent McClain, aka “Money”, a 45-second clip wishing him happy birthday. Napier, cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond, wide receivers coach Keary Colbert, tight ends coach William Peagler, assistant AD of recruiting strategy Katie Turner, director of on-campus recruiting Bri Wade and UF defensive tackle Gervon Dexter all appear in the video.
Dexter is from Polk County like McClain, who attends Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Fla.
“Happy birthday Cormani,” Napier says in the video. “Looking forward to seeing you in the Swamp in March buddy.”
McClain has scheduled a visit with Florida for March 19-20, Gators Online first reported Friday. It will be his first time meeting Napier and his staff.

In the video, Peagler, Turner and Wade all tell McClain they can’t wait to get him on campus, with Raymond adding.
“Know we gonna box when I see you,” Raymond jokes.
The video was shared by McClain’s mother, Tikisha White, on her Twitter account.
“I’m so speechless,” she wrote. “Happy birthday son @CormaniMcClain2 Thank you gator nation.”
Scouting Cormani McClain
“Has the best combination of stature, athleticism and ball skills among cornerback prospects in the 2023 cycle. Measured over 6-foot-1 prior to his junior season and has posted some of the best testing numbers in a combine setting we’ve seen from prospects in his cycle. A twitchy, bouncy athlete with explosive movement patterns. Pairs that athleticism with high end skill on the field. Has proven to be a ballhawk defender with nine interceptions as a sophomore and five picks midway through his junior season. Uses his quickness to stay in-phase with receivers off the line and long speed to turn and run downfield. Highly instinctual and plays fast. Breaks on the ball quickly. Comfortable playing off and press coverage. Doubles as a receiver, which aids in his ball skills and coordination. Would be a four-star type talent at receiver if he chose. Has a thinner frame at 165 pounds and will need to continue adding bulk. Older for the class.” — (On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power)
