Watch: Dameon Pierce sprints his way to a 92-yard score
It probably hasn’t been the season Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce hoped for. The former Florida Gators player has been a backup to Joe Mixon and has missed six games with injuries. All told, he had only 117 rushing yards entering Sunday’s game against Tennessee.
But Pierce probably won’t forget this game; he produced a thrilling 92-yard touchdown run in the second quarter (see below).
The touchdown, which gave Houston a 13-0 first-half lead, was the second longest in Texans history, per multiple reports. It trails only the 97-yard run from Lamar Miller in 2018. Pierce now owns two of the four longest touchdowns runs in Houston Texans history.

At the half, Pierce had five carries for a season-best 112 yards. This is his first 100-yard game of the season and first since Nov. 3, 2022 when he finished with 139 yards on 27 carries vs. Philadelphia. That season, Pierce rushed for 939 yards and four touchdowns on 220 carries as a rookie.
In 2023, his numbers dropped significantly and Pierce rushed for only 416 yards on 145 carries — 2.9 yards per rush. Mixon was brought in to help jump start the running game and he’s having a solid season with 993 yards entering Sunday’s game. While’s Pierce’s rushing numbers have fallen quite a bit, he does have eight kickoff returns this season for 305 yards with a long of 80 yards.
