The first points of the Florida-Florida State game are officially on the board, and it all started from a Florida strip sack from EDGE rusher Jack Pyburn. The ball was then recovered by freshman defensive lineman D’antre Robinson.
Then just two plays later, Gators running back Ja’Kobi Jackson punched it in from one yard out after rushing for 13 yards on the previous play. That was with 2:28 left in the first quarter. The score is 7-0.
During Monday’s news conference after the Mississippi State game, Billy Napier was asked about those potential personnel changes and if any players earned more snaps.
One defender immediately came to mind.
“I think a guy that I thought has been very productive, Jack Pyburn has had a lot of production. I think he played in that (MSU) game well,” Napier said. “He would be a guy that would be at the top of the list, in my opinion.”

Napier also praised Pyburn postgame in Starkville, crediting for making two of the stops during Florida’s goal-line stand. He finishes with a career-high six tackles and a TFL.
