WATCH: Summer workouts begin for 2025-26 Florida Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators have officially started the offseason work to defend their national championship. Summer workouts began this week for the 2025-26 UF men’s basketball team, which includes five new additions.
Florida coaches and players held their first workout on Monday, with the GatorsMBK social media accounts sharing a video of Todd Golden addressing the team afterward.
“Good job. Good first day,” Golden said. “A lot of good work. I thought our intention on the court was great. We went hard. We didn’t shoot it great every single time, but overall, we did a really nice job.”
UF shared another video on Thursday which showed players training for the first time this summer, including workouts at the Hugh Hathcock Florida Basketball Complex and in the weight room.
The Gators returned the top four players from their frontcourt last season, with starters Alex Condon and Reuben Chinyelu both withdrawing from the 2025 NBA Draft. Fellow junior Thomas Haugh is also back and will start at the 3. UF boasts 7-foot-1 senior center Micah Handlogton as well.

Florida landed a trio of top-100 transfers, highlighted by former Arkansas guard Boogie Fland, who is No. 7 overall in the On3 Industry rankings. The Gators also signed Princeton guard Xaivian Lee (39th overall) and Ohio guard AJ Brown (84th), the older brother of UF sophomore Isaiah Brown.
Florida added a pair of top-40 guards from the high school ranks in CJ Ingram (23rd overall) and Alex Lloyd (40th overall). UF also brings back junior guard Urban Klavzar and sophomore center Viktor Mikic along with walk-ons Cooper Josefsberg, Kevin Pazmino and Olivier Rioux.
“I think big picture we’ll pretty much the same, but we’ll make some tweaks,” Golden said of his 2025-26 team. “We’ll be very similar offensively, but we’ll change 10 to 20% of what we do, to adjust and equate for the different pieces we have. We’re going to play Tommy at the 3. Definitely start him there and see how it goes, and he’s going to be on the floor a ton, as you can imagine, but that’ll give us some great opportunities to take advantage of his size and athleticism at the 3.
“And now we have two guys that are outstanding playing out of the ball-screen, so I think we’ll be able to do some unique things that way. But that’s kind of the fun thing about the summer, you know. We’ll get to work with these guys for six to seven weeks and really get a good feel and understanding of how we want to play next year, and so I have some ideas and some intentions on what we want to do, but we’ll use the summer to see if it’s any good or not.”
