Where do Florida Gators assistant coach salaries stack up across the country?
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — USA Today released its annual survey of college football assistant and strength coach salaries on Monday. The Florida Gators have made a larger commitment to assistant football coaches than ever before, something that was important to head coach Billy Napier when he was negotiating his own contract.
In total, Florida will pay its assistant football coaches $6,525,000 in 2023. That number jumps to $7,275,000 when Director of Football Strength and Conditioning Mark Hocke’s $750,000 salary is included.
These totals do not include the numerous support staff, graduate assistants (who are paid and receive free tuition for their graduate programs), or analysts. As Billy Napier has said numerous times, college football is a talent acquisition business, and the University Athletic Association views these salaries as part of paying for that talent acquisition.
