Where Florida ranks heading into National Signing Day
Wednesday marks day one of the Early Signing Period, meaning numerous prospects are set to cross through the recruiting finish line.
Prospects can also sign on Thursday and Friday, or even in February on the second signing day, but most are signing on Wednesday, including every Florida commit.
According to the Industry Ranking Team Recruiting Rankings, the Gators currently have the No. 8 class.
That is down three spots from Monday morning, largely due to safety Xavier Filsaime flipping to Texas. Losing the top-40 prospect immediately put the Gators at No. 7. Shortly thereafter, Miami flipped 4-star running back Jordan Lyle from Ohio State, generating another change in the top 10.
And for the Gators, that will not be the final rankings change either.
UF is heavily involved with 4-star running back Jadan Baugh and 4-star safety Gregory Smith, while a few Gators commits are entertaining other offers. Those include linebacker Adarius Hayes and defensive lineman Amaris Williams.
Likely good and bad, Florida will be in the headlines throughout the Early Signing Period.
