Florida Gators outfielder Wyatt Langford rewrote the school record books Sunday night, becoming the second highest-drafted player in program history. Langford was selected No. 4 overall by the Texas Rangers in the 2023 MLB Draft.

Langford led the team with a .373 batting average this season, totaling 21 home runs, 57 RBI, 83 runs and 88 hits. He came up big for the Gators with homers during their NCAA Tournament run and at the SEC Tournament.

Langford smacked a 456-foot home run in the opening round of the College World Series, the longest in the history of Charles Schwab Field (since 2011). He also become the first player to hit three 400-foot homers in Omaha.

Langford earned 2023 First Team All-SEC honors and was named a 2023 Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball. He was also a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award.

Langford exploded onto the college baseball scene as a sophomore, tying Matt LaPorta’s single-season program home run record with an SEC-leading 26 homers (since broken by Jac Caglionone).
