4-star DE Tylon Lee flips from Ole Miss to Florida State
Florida State has flipped yet another important recruit in the early signing period, and this time it’s four-star edge rusher Tylon Lee, who previously was committed to Ole Miss.
Florida State started trending for Lee late in this recruiting cycle, getting him on campus for an official visit just last weekend for the Seminoles’ matchup with the Florida Gators.
On Friday, he announced he will be signing with the Seminoles.
“They came back to me,” Lee told Warchant about Florida State pushing back into his recruitment. “They text me and stuff. You know, just, ‘Have a great game!’ And hope that I’m doing good,”
Lee, who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 261 pounds, was one of the biggest risers in the latest edition of the On3 recruiting rankings, going from outside of the top 300 all the way to a top-75 recruit in the country.
He is Florida State’s third defensive end in the 2025 class, joining three-star signees Darryl Desir and Mandrell Desir.
Getting to stay closer to home played a definite part in Lee flipping his decision from Ole Miss. While he currently lives and plays high school football in Pensacola, he and his family are originally from Dothan, Ala. Both towns are fairly close to Tallahassee.
“Where I stay at Pensacola is only two hours away, and Dothan is an hour from Doak, so you can’t beat that at all,” Lee told Warchant. “That’s a plus.”

Florida State coach Mike Norvell also made a huge impression in Lee’s recruitment during last weekend’s visit.
“It was great. He looked in my eyes and told me what he sees in me as a young man,” Lee said. “Coach Norvell is one of the realist coaches I’ve ever talked to — that is besides my high school coaches.”
