6 of 7 FSU commits listed in new On300; LB Karon Maycock joins group of top recruits

The newest edition of the On300 for the 2026 class was released on Monday, and the prestigious list is littered with Florida State commits.

The Seminoles currently have seven commitments for this cycle, and six of them are among the list of the 300 top prospects in the country.

The biggest news Monday was that Florida State’s newest commit, linebacker Karon Maycock, jumped into the top 300 for the first time in his high school career; he is listed as the 296th-best prospect in the country.

Maycock’s position also was changed from safety to linebacker, which is where Florida State already was recruiting him.

Four-star safety and Florida State commit Tedarius Hughes also made a big jump Monday. Prior to the new rankings, Hughes was listed as the 277th-ranked player in the class, and he now moves up to 195.

Four-star athlete Efrem White remains the top-rated commitment in the FSU class, according to On3. But he did drop from being a top-50 recruit down to No. 161 overall.

Four-star running back Amari Clemons, who committed to the Seminoles earlier this year, became the second-highest-ranked Florida State commitment. He is the 174th-best prospect, according to On3.

Another important change to the rankings is that Darryon Williams is now listed as a cornerback and not an athlete. Florida State has actually been recruiting him as a wide receiver.

Most of Florida State’s other commitments either slightly moved down or stayed around the same spot.
