AMELIA ISLAND — Amid the fierce winds of change that are constantly altering the college sports landscape, the waters here at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island might be calmer than usual for the ACC this week.

The Atlantic Coast Conference’s annual spring meetings are kicking off at this beachside resort Monday afternoon, and for the first time in years, there are no lawsuits — or looming threats of departures — among the member schools.

Florida State and Clemson settled their lawsuits with the ACC in March, and both schools appear to be satisfied — at least for now — with the changes in distribution of conference television revenue. According to sources, FSU, Clemson and one or two other schools could soon receive more than $15 million per year more than previously allocated, while some others will receive several million dollars less.

The changes won’t put FSU on a level playing field with universities in the Big Ten and SEC, but the gap will be reduced considerably. That disparity was at the heart of the Seminoles’ and Tigers lawsuits against the ACC.

While conference realignment should not be a big topic of discussion this week, there will be no shortage of other interesting conversations as the league’s athletics directors, football coaches, men’s and women’s basketball coaches and other university officials come together for three days.

The pending NCAA House settlement, which is still waiting for a judge’s approval, could be at the top of the list. Schools still don’t yet know whether player revenue sharing, new scholarship limits and other stipulations are going to be in place for this fall or not.

NCAA President Charlie Baker is reportedly set to address the ACC leaders during this afternoon’s meetings, and he is expected to discuss the House settlement, the transfer portal and other topics. The expanded College Football Playoff format is also expected to be a major subject of discussion.
