There will be no question about who is the fastest player on the FSU football team this fall.

Tallahassee native Micahi Danzy, who already was enjoying an excellent freshman year for the Seminoles’ track and field team this spring, delivered a breathtaking performance Saturday at the ACC Outdoor Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C.

First, Danzy was part of FSU’s 4×100-meter relay team, which took first place in the meet with a time of 39.05 seconds. Then he delivered a record-setting performance in the 400 meters.

Danzy not only set a new personal best in running the 400 in 44.38 seconds, but he also established a new Florida State record as well as top marks in ACC history and at the conference championship meet.

The FSU freshman also became the first dual-sport athlete from football and track to ever win the 400 at ACCs.

While such a brilliant freshman year in track could tempt an athlete to focus solely on that sport moving forward, Danzy made it clear on social media Saturday night that he will be suiting up for the Seminoles’ football team in 2025.

“Oh, and I play football in the fall,” Danzy posted on Twitter/X a few hours after his ACC victory.

Danzy, who starred in both sports at Florida High, originally signed with FSU as a running back but moved to wide receiver following the 2024 season.

His speed is obviously expected to be a weapon for the Seminoles this fall. As a true freshman in 2024, he played in four games for the ‘Noles, getting two carries for five yards and hauling in one reception for 38 yards.

The 6-foot-1, 189-pounder preserved his redshirt last year and will return to the football field with four years of eligibility after track season ends.
