As Senior Day approaches, Lawrance Toafili Thankful for FSU Career
Five years ago, he was the first recruit Mike Norvell called when Norvell was hired as Florida State’s head coach.
This Saturday night, he will lead the Seminoles into action for the final time, as they host the rival Florida Gators inside Doak Campbell Stadium.
Along the way, Lawrance Toafili has racked up numerous accolades and honors, including MVP of the 2023 ACC Championship Game.
While Toafili’s senior season has been disappointing from a team perspective, the starting running back says he still will cherish his time at Florida State, including all the highs and lows.
“It turned me into the man I am today,” Toafili said. “I just learned so many life skills, and it’s just the important things that you need to learn as a man growing up. I feel like one thing I can say is my work ethic, my determination. Never giving up and being able to work through hard situations and fight through adversity. Those are traits that translate from football and into the classroom and into everyday life. That’s something very important that I’m going to take with me.”

Toafili also recently became father to a baby boy, and he said that had given him even greater perspective as he prepares for his life after Florida State.
“I try to always be that example for him,” Toafili said. “I want to be a dad to where I set the example for him and he can follow my lead.”
