Florida State will start redshirt freshman Brock Glenn at quarterback against Clemson this Saturday because DJ Uiagalelei is sidelined by a finger injury on his throwing hand, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Monday.

Glenn came into the SMU game for the final possessions this past Saturday after Uiagalelei threw his third interception and sustained the finger injury in a 42-16 defeat.

On Monday morning, Florida State released a depth chart stating that Uiagalelei OR Glenn would start at quarterback this week, and head coach Mike Norvell said a decision likely wouldn’t come until later in the week.

But Thamel reported that the senior quarterback, “is expected to miss the next few weeks.”

“Uiagalelei is undergoing testing to figure out options for a broken finger on his throwing hand,” Thamel reported, attributing the information to unnamed sources.

Through five games at Florida State, Uiagalelei has completed 84 of 156 passes (53.8 percent) for 1,065 yards with four touchdowns and six interceptions. FSU is 1-4 this season with the former Clemson and Oregon State starter under center.
