Details released for FSU baseball coach Link Jarrett's new contract extension
When Link Jarrett agreed to become Florida State’s head baseball coach two years ago, his original contract called for him to earn $1 million annually by the end of the seven-year deal.
Now, Jarrett will hit exceed that plateau in Year Three.
After leading Florida State to the semifinals of the College World Series in just his second season, Jarrett has received a new contract extension that will pay him $1.05 million in 2024-25 and escalate each year from there.
News of the contract extension broke in late June, but the terms of the deal are now available following a public records request to the university.
According to the contract, which now runs through the 2031 season, Jarrett will make the following in base salary:
***2024-25 — $1.05 million
***2025-26 — $1.1 million
***2026-27 — $1.15 million
***2027-28 — $1.225 million
***2028-29 — $1.35 million
***2029-30 — $1.475 million
***2030-31 — $1.575 million
Jarrett’s contract also calls for a number of performance-based bonuses, including $30,000 for a Florida State trip to the College World Series, $100,000 for winning a national championship and $50,000 for finishing in second place.

The Seminoles also will pay Jarrett retention bonuses at the end of each season. He will get a $50,000 bump at the end of next season, $100,000 following each of the next two seasons, and $150,000 after each of the next four campaigns.
Under Jarrett’s leadership, Florida State rebounded from a sub-.500 season in 2023 to emerge as one of the top teams in the country in 2024. The Seminoles reached the championship game of the ACC Tournament, posted a 49-17 record, won NCAA Tallahassee regional and super regional tournaments and made the semifinals at the College World Series.
Jarrett’s original contract started out at $875,000 annually the first two years and was scheduled to escalate to $1 million by the end of the deal.
