Dream Comes True: FSU legacy Antonio Cromartie Jr. commits to Seminoles
Some recruits play things close to the vest during the recruiting process and try to hide their true feelings for various schools. That was not the case with Florida State legacy and talented Georgia cornerback Antonio Cromartie Jr.
As the son of a former FSU and NFL star cornerback, the younger Cromartie has made it clear how much he loves the Seminoles. And on Monday evening, he followed that up by committing to Florida State as part of its 2025 recruiting class.
“Coach Norvell is building something special here and I want to be a part of it,” Antonio Jr. told our Matt LaSerre on Monday. “FSU is also the real ‘DBU’ and I want to continue the tradition of great defensive backs that have come through this program.”
Going into the visit, the Carrolton, Georgia standout was not sure yet he was going to be a ‘Nole, but that quickly changed after his meeting with defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain.
“He told me they didn’t just offer me to say we have Antonio Cromartie Jr.,” he said. “They offered me expecting me to make an impact on the field for them and that they believe in my skills to do that.”

Cromartie actually received his offer from the Seminoles and head coach Mike Norvell on Christmas Day, and he took his official visit this past weekend.
“FSU is my dream school,” the younger Cromartie said before his visit. “Been waiting for this one for a long time and now it’s finally here. … I’ve been around FSU my whole life, so it just holds a special place in my heart. Norvell is also great. He’s building something special down there.”
As a senior this past fall, Cromartie helped lead Carrollton High to a state championship and finished with 85 tackles, one interception, four pass breakups and four forced fumbles.
