With the Ohio State Buckeyes defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the national championship game Monday night, college football fans’ attention can now fully turn toward the 2025 season.

FanDuel Sportsbook has already released some early odds for next season, including select betting lines for the opening weekend of games.

Florida State will start the season in a newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Aug. 30. The Seminoles have opened as 7.5-point home underdogs to the Tide, according to FanDuel. The over/under on the game has been set at 51.5 points.

National Championship odds for the 2025 season have also been released by the site. FSU starts with the 23rd-lowest odds in college football at +9500 (meaning a $100 wager returns $9,500).

The Seminoles are the biggest longshot to win it all next season out of the “big three” college football teams in Florida. Miami has the 15th-lowest odds at +4000, and Florida comes in with the 16th-lowest at +5000.

The national championship game next season will be played in South Florida at Hard Rock Stadium

Florida State transfer quarterback Thomas Castellanos has the 24th-lowest odds of winning the Heisman Trophy in 2025 at +5000.

Rivals Win Totals

A season win total has yet to be seen for Florida State ahead of the 2025 campaign. However, multiple rivals of the Seminoles do have early win predictions out, including Florida, Miami and Clemson.

Clemson has the highest projected win total of the group. The Tigers’ line is currently set at 9.5 wins. The Tigers are also listed as 2.5-point favorite against LSU at home to open the season.

The Florida Gators, even after a strong run to end the 2024 season, still have a fairly low win total going into the new year with a line of 6.5.

The Miami Hurricanes’ win total for 2025 currently sits at 8.5.
