DT Joshua Farmer withdraws his name from transfer portal, says he will remain at Florida State
The two-day saga of where Joshua Farmer will play football this upcoming season has apparently ended.
On Thursday evening, the redshirt sophomore defensive lineman tweeted that he would be staying at Florida State.
It was the culmination of a wild 48 hours.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Port St. Joe native tweeted that he would be entering the transfer portal. His name finally appeared in the portal, and was taken off the Florida State official roster on Seminoles.com, on Thursday morning.
Then, a few hours later, Farmer withdrew his name and said he would be staying at FSU.
“I know the last 48 hours have been extremely challenging,” Farmer tweeted “After talking with my family and loved ones I know that Florida State is home and it always will be. I believe in this team and the family we have. I want to be a part of helping the program get to where I know we can go and to give all I have making that happen.”

He then finished out the tweet with hashtags “#Family” and “#KeepCLIMBing.”
On Thursday evening, Farmer’s name returned to the official roster.
Farmer had a terrific spring for the Seminoles and seemed to emerge as one of the best defensive linemen on the team.
Head coach Mike Norvell used the word “dominant” to describe him earlier this month. And he seems poised to have a breakout year for the Florida State defense in 2023.
He finished last season with 15 tackles, including six for loss and two sacks.
