Florida State 5-star signee Hykeem Williams trades barbs with Travis Hunter
The top signee in Florida State’s 2023 signing class, Hykeem Williams, might never be more popular with Seminole fans than he is right now. And if he is, that means he enjoyed one heck of a career.
On Wednesday, before his announcement ceremony, Williams said on an Instagram Live feed that Florida State fans didn’t need to worry about him backing out of his commitment at the last minute.
“Ain’t no Travis Hunter over here,” the five-star wide receiver said, in reference to Hunter’s infamous hat toss before dissing FSU and signing with Jackson State in December 2021.
Well, on Thursday, Hunter took exception with Williams’ comment and posted a retort on Twitter: “Could never be me,” he tweeted, with several laughing emojis.

Williams then wasted little time in firing back with a one-liner of his own, saying that Hunter is absolutely correct.
