Florida State football’s 2026 schedule came a bit more into focus Monday afternoon. FSU is adding a date with the Central Arkansas Bears for Sept. 26, 2026 at Doak Campbell Stadium. The game will follow a Sept. 19 road game at Alabama.

Central Arkansas is the alma mater of Seminoles’ head coach Mike Norvell. Norvell was a wide receiver at UCA from 2001-2005 after transferring from Louisiana Tech. Norvell was a four-year letter winner and was inducted into the school’s hall of fame. He was second on UCA’s all-time receiving list with 2,611 yards on 213 receptions.

In 2024, Central Arkansas went 6-6 on the year, with one common opponent with Florida State in Northern Alabama. UCA finished fifth in the ASUN conference last season.

2026 will mark the first time that Florida State and Central Arkansas have ever faced off on the gridiron.

Florida State’s full non-conference schedule for next season is now locked in with home matchups against UCA, Notre Dame and Florida in addition to the road game in Tuscaloosa.
