Head coach Mike Norvell wasn’t the only Florida State football staffer rewarded following the Seminoles’ 10-3 season and No. 10 national ranking in 2022.

Offensive coordinator Alex Atkins and each of the Seminoles’ other assistant coaches received raises and/or extensions, according to documents released Tuesday to Warchant and other media outlets who requested them via public records requests.

The highlights are the raises and extensions for Atkins and defensive coordinator Adam Fuller.

Atkins will now be making $1.15 million in 2023, $1.25 million in 2024 and $1.3 million in 2025. He originally was slated to make $850,000 as part of his most recent contract.

Fuller’s contract will go through the 2024 season, and he will make $1.2 million this season and $1.3 million in 2024.

Special-teams coordinator and defensive ends coach John Papuchis will make $700,000 in 2023 and $750,000 in 2024. He previously was making $550,0000.

Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins signed a one-year deal through the 2023 season at $600,000, which is what he made last year.

Running backs coach David Johnson will get $500,000 this year and $550,000 in 2024.

Linebackers coach Randy Shannon will get a raise this year from $600,000 to $625,000, and his deal ends in early 2024.

Quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz will receive $400,000 in 2023 and $450,000 in ’24. He previously made $300,000 last season.

Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans will receive $500,000 this year and $550,000 in 2024. He previously was making $450,000.

Tight ends coach Chris Thomsen will make $500,000 in 2023.

New defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain will make $400,000 this season and $500,000 in 2024. He received a two-year deal.

Each of the coaches also will receive about two months of prorated pay to get their contracts on a cycle that ends on the last day of February, as opposed to Dec. 31, which had been customary.

Florida State announced earlier this month that Norvell’s new contract will run through 2029 and he will earn an average of about $8.05 million per year. According to reports, that should make him the highest-paid coach in the state, slightly ahead of Mario Cristobal’s $8 million per year at Miami.
