Florida State will be without one of its fastest players for the rest of the 2024 season. In his Monday morning game-week press conference, head coach Mike Norvell announced that running back Jaylin Lucas will be out for the year with an undisclosed injury suffered against Boston College.

“Really disappointed for the young man,” Norvell said. “Very talented player, explosive athlete for us. Unfortunately he had an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.”

Norvell did add that Lucas has a redshirt available and has “a couple of years” of eligibility remaining. In addition to his work as a returner on special teams, the junior finishes the 2024 season with two carries for 13 yards and three receptions for 39 yards.

“Our thoughts are with him as he jumping into the rehab part of the recovery with the injury,” Norvell said. “And I know he’s going to do a great job of being able to continue to help the guys that are there on the field… still very excited about what his future is going to be as a Seminole.”
