The Florida State football team landed its first commitment of the 2025 class since January on Monday, and it was a big one: 325-pound four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn.

He announced his decision Monday evening on social media.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Wynn is a top-150 recruit nationally in the 2025 class, as well as a top-15 defensive lineman.

There were two main factors in Wynn’s decision to commit: The family feel Florida State brought as well as his fit into the defensive scheme.

“It felt like home,” Wynn said. “I feel like I fit right into the defensive scheme, especially with Coach Haggins (defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins). I know he ain’t going nowhere because he’s been here 30-plus years, but they run a four-down front… I’m going to be doing the same thing I do in high school but at a different level.”

This commitment actually came during his official visit this past weekend; the four-star chose to briefly hold off on a public announcement.

Florida State showed the Greene County, Ga., standout more of the day-to-day life in Tallahassee during his visit, and he loved every minute.

“It went fantastic, man,” said Wynn. “This is my first time. I’ve been over here a couple times for like games and stuff. But this is my first time actually seeing the whole area, meet more of the coaching staff and hang out with the players.”

At the time of Wynn’s trip to Tallahassee, Georgia held a slight advantage in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The numbers surged toward FSU since Sunday afternoon.
