Florida State lands commitment from 2026 Miami defensive back Darryl Bell
The Florida State football staff is still putting the finishing touches on its 2024 signing class, and the Seminoles on Tuesday picked up their second commitment for the Class of 2026.
Miami defensive back Darryl Bell III, a 6-foot sophomore safety at Barbara Goleman Senior High, announced his decision on social media.
Bell, who goes by the nickname “Tre,” spoke with Warchant shortly after announcing his commitment.
“I felt like it was home,” Bell said of his decision. “And I felt like the coaches, I had a special bond with them from the first time I met them.”
Bell is the second 2026 commitment for Florida State, joining four-star wide receiver Devin Carter of Georgia. Carter, who is the son of former FSU and NFL star Dexter Carter, committed to the Seminoles in April.
While Florida State assistant coach Randy Shannon is Bell’s primary recruiter, the safety prospect said he also has hit it off with head coach Mike Norvell.

“When I met him at the FSU and FAU camp, he really taught me a few things that I didn’t really know,” Bell said of Norvell. “When I first met him, I didn’t know who he was because he had the shades on. But after he said his name, he was really vibing with me and showing me some stuff.”
