Florida State picked up another 2026 commitment on Thursday as three-star defensive prospect Karon Maycock out of Miami Central High School announced his decision on Instagram.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Maycock is the 54th-ranked safety in the country. But the Seminoles see him as a linebacker or possibly a rover in Tony White’s new 3-3-5 scheme.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect was last on campus for Florida State’s final Junior Day on Feb. 1, right before the start of February’s NCAA “dead” period. And he raved about his relationship with head coach Mike Norvell.

“It felt like home,” Maycock said at the time. “It’s family. I know I’ve been up here a couple times, but the coaches — especially Coach Norvell, the energy that he brings — like he just showed that he loved me and cared for me. Even when they came down to talk to me, it showed that they really want me.”

The new Florida State commit will officially visit Florida State on June 21. He is the seventh commitment for the Seminoles for this class.
