Florida State lands commitment from top junior placekicker Jake Weinberg

American Heritage placekicker Jake Weinberg, who is rated the No. 1 junior kicker in the country by Kohl’s Kicking, has committed to Florida State.

Weinberg is a prospect in the 2024 recruiting class and is known for having an extremely strong leg. According to MaxPreps, Weinberg’s longest field goal this season was 57 yards, but he has connected on kicks beyond 60 yards in camps.

Kohl’s, which holds prestigious kicking camps and is considered the industry leader, named Weinberg the No. 1 kicker in his class after an impressive recent performance in Atlanta.

Weinberg received a scholarship offer from the Seminoles this past week after his effort in Atlanta. According to Kohl’s, the South Florida product ranked first in kickoffs and tied for first in field goals.

Florida State now has eight commitments for the Class of 2024 and one of the top classes in the country.
