Florida State has landed yet another blue chip receiver — its third in the 2025 class — in four-star prospect Malik Clark. This time, the Seminoles dipped into South Carolina to add to its top-10 recruiting class.

A Rock Hill-native, Clark picked FSU over the North Carolina Tar Heels and hometown South Carolina Gamecocks.

According to On3, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver is a top 250 player in the country, as well as one of the nation’s top 50 wide receivers. Clark is also ranked as the second best player in South Carolina, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

This commitment comes as a surprise. Clark had only visited Florida State one time, compared to two visits to UNC and three to see the Gamecocks. That trip to Tallahassee came in mid June and was one of Clark’s official visits.

For Clark to commit to the Seminoles after just one visit, something really had to click, and that was the sense he got when he stepped on campus for the first time.

“The home feel,” Clark said. “For it to be so far away from home and feel like home is always a great thing. The way you can come around here and feel like you’re already on the team, even if it’s their first time meeting you.”

The four-star doubled down on the statement to On3’s VP of recruiting and transfer portal Steve Wiltfong when talking about his commitment to FSU.

“Coach Norvell is full of energy and very transparent,” Clark told Wiltfong. “I like the way it felt like home away from home, and also knowing I have to work and compete to get better and also to get on field.”

Clark adds to an already stacked wide receiver class with two On3 100 receiver pledges in CJ Wiley and Daylan McCutcheon.

At the time of Clark’s commitment, Florida State’s recruiting class ranked seventh in the 2025 On3 Industry Team Rankings.
