Florida State leading rusher Treshaun Ward expected to return for Miami game

When Florida State’s leading rusher, redshirt sophomore Treshaun Ward, was sidelined with an upper-body injury against N.C. State, there was concern it might be season ending.
Instead, it likely will be just a two-game absence.
Ward, who leads the Seminoles with 488 yards and three touchdowns, has practiced this week and is now expected to play Saturday at rival Miami.
“As of right now, something negative would have to happen for him not to play,” Florida State head coach Mike Norvell said after Wednesday’s practice. “I feel very confident in where he’s heading.”

Norvell said he couldn’t predict how many carries Ward would have in his first game back, but he added that things are “trending” in a positive direction.
