Even on a day when the Florida State football staff was taking some time to celebrate Easter weekend, the Seminoles made positive headway on the recruiting trail.

Mississippi offensive lineman Isaiah Autry, who is a three-star prospect and listed at 6-foot-7 and 275 pounds, released his Top 5 schools on Sunday, and Florida State made the cut.

The Seminoles were joined by Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and Oklahoma.

On3 rates Autry as the nation’s No. 35 offensive tackle and the No. 19 prospect in the state of Mississippi, and he visited Florida State on March 11 for the Seminoles’ Legacy Weekend.

After that visit, Autry said Florida State’s coaches compared him favorably to starting left tackle Robert Scott. The Mississippi product said he liked the fact that offensive line coach Alex Atkins can be brutally honest when evaluating his play on film.

“He doesn’t really look at the highlights,” Autry said. “He will look at the good and bad and how do you adjust or recover. What do you do when you mess up?”

Autry wasn’t the only coveted prospect to share good news about Florida State on Sunday.

Alabama defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman also unveiled his Top 10, and it featured the Seminoles along with Auburn, Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, Florida, Colorado, Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee.

Beaman is rated the No. 8 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 75 prospect overall, according to On3.

Four-star cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. of Ohio also announced his top 12 schools, and the Seminoles made that cut too. They were joined by Oregon, USC, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Louisville, Tennessee, Kentucky, Pitt, Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

In announcing his top 12, Scott offered a few words about each of his finalists. He didn’t have a lengthy comment about Florida State, but he did say he, “can see myself playing there.”

Scott is rated the No. 2 cornerback in the country, according to On3; he also is the No. 1 prospect in the state of Ohio.
