The Florida State men’s basketball team is one of four finalists for a graduate transfer who is among the highest-rated prospects in the transfer portal.

Hofstra point guard Aaron Estrada, who averaged 20.2 points per game and also is an effective passer and rebounder, confirmed with On3’s Joe Tipton on Monday that he is down to four schools — Florida State, Alabama, Cincinnati and Kansas State.

The 6-foot-3 senior led Hofstra in scoring and rebounding (5.5 per game) and ranked second in assists (4.3) this past season. He shot 47.8 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from 3-point range and 80.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Estrada was the Player of the Year in the Colonial Athletic Association each of the past two years. According to On3, he is the No. 4 transfer player available in the portal.

The native of Woodbury, N.J., started his college career at Saint Peter’s and was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year after averaging 8.1 points as a freshman in 2019-20. Estrada later transferred to Hofstra, where he played the past two seasons.

Estrada will have one more year remaining as a graduate transfer. He entered the transfer portal last week.

Florida State is in the running for several transfers this offseason after a dismal 9-23 campaign, with the Seminoles expected to try to land a proven point guard, two wings and a post player.
