Defensive line is one of Florida State’s top needs in the transfer portal this offseason, and the Seminoles have picked up a productive transfer who originally hails from the Florida panhandle.

Colorado State defensive tackle Grady Kelly announced Sunday that he has committed to transfer to Florida State. Kelly visited FSU this weekend after entering the transfer portal in December.

“I’m a ‘Nole,” Kelly said after wrapping up his visit. “There was an instant connection when you’re talking to these coaches. It’s love from all the coaches. They care about their players.”

The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder played high school football at Navarre before signing with Colorado State. He was a three-star prospect coming out of high school but found early success in college.

As a redshirt freshman in 2022, Kelly earned a starting role and ranked seventh on the team with 43 tackles. He also recorded one sack, recovered a fumble and broke up two passes. He earned Freshman All-America honors from College Football News.

The Seminoles earlier landed Georgia defensive end transfer Marvin Jones Jr., who was a five-star recruit coming out of high school.
