Tate Rodemaker was among the standouts for FSU in Tuesday's practice.

The Florida State football team apparently will have one scholarship quarterback available for the Orange Bowl against Georgia on Dec. 30.

Redshirt junior Tate Rodemaker, who started the Florida game and was expected to start in the Orange Bowl, has informed Florida State’s coaches that he is entering the transfer portal and will not be making the trip to South Florida. The news was first reported Monday by Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports, and it was confirmed to Warchant by a source close to the family.

Rodemaker is the second scholarship quarterback to transfer from Florida State since the Seminoles’ ACC Championship Game victory against Louisville.

Redshirt freshman AJ Duffy already announced his plans to transfer to San Diego State. With senior starter Jordan Travis injured and out for the season, the Seminoles’ only remaining scholarship quarterback is freshman Brock Glenn.

Glenn started the ACC Championship Game and completed 8 of 21 passes for 55 yards.

Rodemaker’s decision was likely influenced by the fact that Florida State has hosted two high-profile quarterback transfers in recent weeks — former Washington State star Cam Ward and former Clemson and Oregon State QB DJ Uiagalelei.
