FSU junior DB Jarrian Jones is all smiles walking into apractice.

There are still a whole lot of question marks about who will be playing for Florida State on Dec. 30 in the Orange Bowl.

But one of those has now been officially answered.

Jarrian Jones announced Friday on Twitter, in a post where he also said he was going to enter the NFL Draft, that he would be playing in the Seminoles’ bowl game against the University of Georgia.

Above his message to the Florida State fans, Jones tweeted: “Been a pleasure. Orange Bowl next!”

Jones, who was at Mississippi State for his freshman season in 2019, played the last four years for the Seminoles. So, his college eligibility is exhausted.

But the nickel corner sure did make his last year count.

He was not only the highest-graded player on the entire football team, according to Pro Football Focus, but his 90.3 overall grade was the third-highest of any cornerback in the country who played at least 50 percent of his team’s snaps.

Jones made the game-sealing interception in FSU’s win over Miami and finished the 2023 regular season with 25 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, one sack and a team-high three interceptions.

His emergence was one of the key reasons why Florida State had the second best pass efficiency defense in the country.

Could Jones’ decision spark other NFL-bound players to opt-in for the bowl game as well? One year ago, it was Jones who helped convince several other Florida State players to return for the 2023 season.

“I felt if we came back to school and did it the right way, we could do something major,” Jones told Warchant earlier this year.

Florida State is expected to have two practices that will be open to the media next week, which should provide additional clarity about which players plan to participate in the Orange Bowl.
