After an eventful regular season that saw some surprising lows and incredible highs, the Florida State softball team is back in familiar territory today.

The Seminoles, who have hosted 10 straight NCAA Regionals, are back at home welcoming in three opponents for their first games of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

FSU comes in with a record of 43-14, and the ‘Noles will open their postseason today against Southern Conference Champion Chattanooga, which is 42-14. That game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and will air on the ACC Network.

The other game today will feature Auburn (27-19-1) and UCF (30-23), and it is slated for 2 p.m. on ESPNU.

Florida State has history with all three opponents in the Tallahassee Regional. The Seminoles are 9-0 all-time against Chattanooga, and they boast impressive records against the other schools in NCAA play. FSU is 4-1 all-time against Auburn in the postseason, and 5-0 against UCF.

Florida State, which has won 25 of its last 30 games, comes into the postseason with one of the most potent offenses in the country. The Seminoles average 7.6 runs per game, which ranks sixth nationally. The Seminoles’ .338 team batting average ranks eighth in the country.

FSU has scored 433 runs in 57 games and has a chance to break the school record of 459, which was established in 2016. The Seminoles’ pitching has been uncharacteristically inconsistent, however, and contributed to most of those 14 losses.

Florida State coach Lonni Alameda and star players Kaley Mudge and Ashtyn Danley spoke with the media this week to preview the tournament. Here are those interviews:
