Florida State's Jamie Arnold named Preseason Pitcher of Year by Baseball America
Add another preseason award to the mantle for Florida State junior pitcher Jamie Arnold.
The Florida State ace has already been named the Preseason Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game, and now he can add Baseball America to the list of publications that think he is the best returning pitcher in the country.
Baseball America named Arnold the Preseason Pitcher of the Year on Friday, another honor for the All-American left-handed starter.
Arnold was 11-3 with a 2.98 ERA in 2024. He struck out 159 batters in 105.2 innings pitched for the Seminoles as a junior and walked just 24.
He had a game against Pitt in which he struck out 17 batters. He also struck out 12 in seven innings of the Seminoles’ NCAA Regional win — and included in that was an immaculate inning in which he struck out all three batters on nine pitches.

He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tallahassee Regional following that performance.
Arnold is expected to be one of the first pitchers selected in the Major League Baseball Draft in July.
