The 2023 Associated Press All-America Team was released on Monday, and the Florida State Seminoles had two players recognized as among the best at their positions.

Defensive end Jared Verse, who received third-team honors from the AP last season, was named a second-team All-American in 2023. Verse’s stats were not great to start the year, but when it came to big games such as Florida and Louisville in the conference championship game, he came up big.

The Albany transfer had 41 total tackles in his second year at Florida State, including 12.5 tackles for loss, and nine sacks. He used his speed and strength to account for 130 yards of loss for opposing offenses this year.

The Florida State edge rusher also had a tendency to push offensive linemen into the quarterback.

Interior defensive lineman Braden Fiske was also named to the AP All-America third team.

Fiske transferred into Florida State this past offseason from Western Michigan, but quickly became a fan favorite and his presence was felt in many games.
