'Forever indebted to FSU,' WR Keyshawn Helton enters transfer portal
Florida State wide receiver Keyshawn Helton, who was a part-time starter earlier in his college career but played sparingly this past season due to injury, has entered the transfer portal.
Helton announced his decision Tuesday on social media with a heartfelt post that included appreciation for former and current coaches, the athletic training staff, his teammates and many others. He ended it with a special shout-out to Florida State’s fan base.
“Nole Nation, thank you for the unwavering support over the years,” Helton wrote. “I was taught always to leave a place better than you found it, and I believe Coach Norvell has something really special going on here. No amount of words can explain how appreciative I am. Forever indebted to FSU and this program!”

He started four games the next year but went down midway through the season with a catastrophic knee injury. Helton came back from that injury to play in 19 games the next two seasons with four starts.
He finishes his Florida State career with 60 receptions and eight touchdowns. Helton has one more year of eligibility remaining.
He is the second Seminole to enter the transfer portal since it opened to FBS players on Monday, joining linebacker Amari Gainer.
And like with Gainer, head coach Mike Norvell shared strong compliments about Helton and his future.
