Former 4-star DB recruit Demorie Tate to enter transfer portal, leaving Florida State
Demorie Tate, who was one of the Florida State football team’s highest-rated recruits in the Class of 2020, announced Sunday he is entering the transfer portal.
Tate, who selected the Seminoles over Alabama, Georgia and several other programs, never made any semblance of an impact in Tallahassee. The former four-star cornerback sat out the 2020 season due to NCAA academic requirements and then played in just one game in 2021 — a blowout win over UMass.

Tate hasn’t played at all in 2022, according to Pro Football Focus, and has worked primarily with the Florida State scout-team defense. He was a member of Mike Norvell’s first signing class, shortly after he was hired by the Seminoles.
