Former FSU star Jordan Travis aims to return from injury by May or June
Jordan Travis’ road to recovery is going so well that the former Florida State star quarterback believes he will be back in action by May or June. And he is confident he will be ready to compete in training camp for whatever NFL team selects him in the 2024 NFL Draft.
While speaking with reporters Friday in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine, Travis said doctors allowed him to remove his protective walking boot for the first time last week.
“I got out of my boot about a week ago,” said Travis, who is less than four months removed from the devastating leg injury. “It’s pretty special. I’m so thankful to wake up every single day and look down at my shoes. I’m so grateful. It’s been a journey for sure. My family’s helped me get through it. …
“I should be ready by May. That’s my goal — May, June. So I’m ready for it.”
Travis, who named the ACC Player of the Year in 2023 after helping lead Florida State to a conference championship and undefeated regular season, has been projected as a mid- to late-round draft pick despite being sidelined late last season and missing FSU’s last three games.
When Travis was asked Friday about the specifics of his injury, he would only say that he sustained a broken bone.

With FSU’s Pro Day scheduled for March 22 and the NFL Draft slated for late April, Travis won’t be able to show teams much from a physical standpoint. But he took part in interviews with teams at the East-West Shrine Bowl in January, and he is doing more of that this week in Indianapolis.
“Obviously the first question [NFL teams] ask is, am I going to be healthy? I mean, obviously that’s the first thing,” Travis said at the NFL Combine Friday. “I’m going to be healthy, a hundred percent.”
Travis finished his Florida State career with over 8,600 passing yards and 65 touchdowns with 19 interceptions. During his two seasons as a full-time starter, he threw for 44 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
Travis also rushed for 1,910 yards and 31 touchdowns as a Seminole.
