Former FSU tight end Markeston Douglas returning to Seminoles
One year after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal and playing one season at Arizona State, tight end Markeston Douglas is returning to the Florida State Seminoles.
Douglas spent the first four years of his college career at Florida State, then played for the Sun Devils in 2024, but now he is returning to where it all started.
“I just fell in love with the culture and fell in love playing with FSU,” Douglas told Warchant of his decision.
The Tennessee native announced he was returning to FSU on social media Thursday afternoon.
The big-bodied tight end, who went by the nickname “Biscuit” at Florida State, said he also is excited to get reunited with tight ends coach Chris Thomsen.
“He’s going to teach you everything,” Douglas said. “Especially in the pass-catching game. My game with him, it was really good. And feel it’s going to be better being back with him.”
Douglas originally signed with Florida State in 2020, but that year did not count toward college eligibility because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He then played in only four games during the 2021 season, which qualified him for a redshirt.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder played in all 13 games with four starts during the 2022 season at Florida State, catching 14 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns. He then caught 11 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns in 2023.

At Arizona State this past season, Douglas played in every game but caught just one pass for three yards.
Douglas said he is extremely excited to reunite with several of his former teammates, and he’s also looking forward to playing with new transfer quarterback Thomas Castellanos.
“I don’t know him personally, but I know every time we played Boston College, he always gave us problems in the run game and overall,” Douglas said. “So I feel we can click good.”
